Patrick Thompson has more than 10 years’ experience in leading or collaborating with other teams in the implementation of complex multi-modal transport projects and developing policies and objectives for the transportation sector. He is extremely efficient in developing good human relationships with individuals and stakeholders group. He has a wide knowledge of the transport systems and infrastructure across Latin America and the Caribbean and more than 30 countries worldwide.

He is a Certified Project Management Professional since 2007 fluent in English and Spanish, International Road Federation Fellow Class of 2011, Pastor and Youth Mentor.

Patrick has excellent knowledge of the functioning of Public Sector in Guyana and other countries and profound understanding of the challenges of the global and regional Transport Sector through his participation on regional and international Committees and Councils as well as participation in courses and seminars in Korea, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, France, Germany, USA, Colombia, Mexico, inter alia.

Over the past 14 years Patrick has held various portfolios within the Work Services Group, Ministry of Public Infrastructure and current holds the position of Chief Transport Planning Officer taking lead role on the planning of projects such as the New Bridge across the Demerara River, Linden to Lethem Road Link and the development of a deep water port in Guyana. He is an alumnus of President’s College (class of '96) and in 1999 he received a CARICOM -Cuba Scholarship and read for a Bachelor of Science degree in
Civil Engineering at CUJAE (Coo-Hi). In 2010 he received the OAS Scholarship and The Ohio State University Fellowship Award to read for a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio from where he graduated in 2011.
