With over 39 years of transportation engineering experience, Mark focuses on bridge, interchange and ramp designs, analysis of pavement or surface damage, reconstruction and rehabilitation of bridges, drainage designs for structures, and safety designs for highways. He designed a Collapse Detection and Motorist Warning system that detects a span collapse and activates emergency alarms, lowers gates denying traffic across the bridge and activates LED flashing lights spaced across a bridge. In addition, Mark routinely presents technical presentations at conferences and meetings throughout the Texas area. Previously he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation, Bridge Division.  He has served numerous roles for organizations such as AASHTO/ARTBA/AGC Task Force 13 on Standardization of Highway Safety Hardware; American Traffic Safety Federation, International Road Federation, and National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cum Laude, from the University of Houston and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
